“Educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all.” -Aristotle
Our mission is to create a sustainable culture of compassion amongst ALL youth and education stakeholders in our community.
We believe that compassion is the world’s most abundant, most powerful, and most underutilized natural resource. We want to harvest this natural resource and provide it a place to take root and grow, so that every child and every adult, no matter who they are or where they come from, knows their value and can productively contribute for the greater good of our community. This effort starts with our youngest citizens at the earliest possible moment that we can connect with them.
Create a Council of Ambassadors that will consist of education stakeholders who will help advance the integration of compassion, including self-compassion, into all education platforms (in-school and out-of-school) through collaboration and innovation.
We want to explore the questions:
What if compassion was the catalyst for building an educational system of excellence in Louisville, where every student is academically, socially, emotionally and physically enriched and empowered to succeed?
How would this advance our community?
What changes and tools are necessary to achieve this goal?
How can we work together to advance the work that is necessary to fulfill our mission?
What role should/could individual Education Constellation council members and their organizations play in moving the work forward?
